If you're attending our Full Moon Zoom Ritual this Thursday, you may want to make some Moon Water.
According to my moon phase calendar, the full moon is on the 16th. Moon energy, for each phase, lasts for three nights: night before, night of, and night after. You can make Moon Water at anytime, any phase, depending on your need!
My moon phases are gonna be a little different than most folks, but the energy is pretty much the same.
New Moon - First sliver of moon - New Beginnings, new projects, cleaning/cleansing, new lunar month/cycle.
Waxing Moon - Building Energies. Healing. Positive magiks.
Full Moon - Height of power, healing, empowerment. A lot of people tend to work most of their magiks on this phase, and may not work on other phases.
Waxing Moon - Removing Energies. Healing. Negative magiks.
Dark Moon - No Moon in the Sky - Endings, banishing, banework, Death Work, Spirit Work, Ancestor Work, Hekate's Deipnon, last day of the lunar month/cycle.
Course, you can do magik at any time, but some people tend to only do so on certain days of the week, times of the year/day, or phase of the moon. If you google "Moon Phase Magick" or "Moon Magick", you'll get other opinions about what phase is good for what magik type. Experiment and see what works best for you.
So Moon Water is super simple to make. If you'd like you can do a ritual, but the basics are:
Take a container to hold the water, preferably something with a lid.
Sit on a window sill, in your vehicle, on your porch, on an altar, etc.
Ask the moon to charge or bless the water with its energy. Or charge it yourself. If you can visualize, see the moon's energy coming down and going into your water. If you can't visualize, speak your intention, or do whatever works for you.
Let it sit for a couple of hours, then put it somewhere for safekeeping or use it then and there. Just be sure to refresh it on the next cycle.
Some people believe you have to keep it from sunlight, or it's taints your moon water. Due to my own experiences, I don't adhere to that belief. Again, experiment and form your own opinion.
Don't worry about clouds, not facing the right direction, or maybe not even having windows! The moon's energy is going to reach your water.
Ta-da, you've got Moon Water!
Moon Water is basically a holy/lustral water that can be used for a variety of things. You can ingest it as long as it's safe, you can add it to your bath or pour it over your head in the shower, use it to cleanse/charge stones, tools, rooms, whatever. On Thursday, we're going to be using Moon Water (or an oil) to dress candles with. If you're planning on attending that ritual, when you charge your Moon Water, focus on energies of healing, self-love, and empowerment. I may give a quick review on making moon water, especially if you just haven't had the time because of life.
I hope to see yall on Thursday, 8pm EST!
