Updated: Apr 14, 2022

Grab your brooms and come Zoom with us on Friday, April 15th, at 8pm Eastern! This is a free ritual and you don't have to be a member to attend.

Zoom Room opens at 8pm EST.

Ritual begins at 8:10pm. Facebook Event Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1404954453304239 Zoom Room: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81521943944?pwd=Z3U0c2s5RklXT1NsdG5JbXRtMDV6UT09&fbclid=IwAR3qcxnJepo2jHxnboay6F9TwPib-CnyaLT3zY8T9JBBelVNW1WTPAMgJzI#success After the last Ostara Full Moon Zoom, I woke up with a song by Mama Gina called Old Snake Woman, with the words "Shed Her Skin" on repeat in my brain. I knew this full moon had something to do with another Spring animal, the Snake. Did you know that in the winter they don't hibernate? No, instead they brumate, which is like hibernation, with less activity. The cold weather and less daylight let's the snake know when it's time to enter this period, which can last from September to May, roughly. Snakes do not sleep the entire time, though. They may still bask in the sunlight, hunt, or drink water.

While working with Medusa this past fall and winter, She taught me about Brumation--a period of rest, self-care, and patience. But now with spring here with more daylight and some warm days, it's time to end this period, to shed my skin, and live my life. The energies we're going to be focusing on this full moon are release, healing, and renewal. Like a serpent, plan on "shedding" your old, dead self, for you have grown! I'm going to talk attendees through a journey to meet Snake for their wisdom as to how you can shed all that doesn't serve you anymore, how to remove that itchy irritating dead energy, and rest in your new raw fresh form. Snakes are generally associated with the earth and fire. They are great symbols for grounding, healing, protection, death, spirit worlds, renewal, empowerment, and wisdom. Of course, if you're afraid of snakes, they hold different meanings, and can be considered to be someone's Dark Spirit Animal, meaning that it can be an aspect of your Shadow Self that's in need of healing. In some religions and spiritual paths, the snake can represent fear, evil, manipulation, and death. But since I associate Snake with good things, we're going to be focusing on the positive powers of Snake.

Some Deities/Entities: Serpent, Snake Woman/Goddess, The World Snake, the Minoan/Crete Ariadne, Medusa, Hekate, Marie Laveau, Meretseger, Asclepius, Quetzalcóatl, Mami Wata, Aido Hwedo, Agathos Daimon, Nagas, and many others.

On Sunday, my other group, The Wyrd Sanctuary, decided that Loki was also a (Dark) Goddess. They are the mother of Sleipnir after all! Loki is associated with snake through punishment. In the myths, They were responsible for Baldur's death and the other Gods punished Loki by tying Them up and having the venom of a serpent drip onto Them. Their faithful wife Sigyn held a bowl to catch this venom, but every so often, She had to empty the bowl, which meant agony.

In my own experience with Loki, They often take the forms of a fox, a spider, and a snake.

What does Snake mean to you? Have you worked with Them before? What lessons can They teach you? Think about these questions and journal. Also think of other questions regarding these energies. Have your questions answered by the gifted High Phoenix Nikki who will be performing divination for those present. I'm not sure what working we'll be doing for the ritual, other than the pathworking and Nikki's divination. It might have something to do with hygiene and enchanting one's products and tools to physically and energetically cleanse. When I know more, I'll update this post and the Facebook Event. I just tried a new shower ritual the other day, utilizing these energies, so I may pass down this knowledge to anyone who'd like to try it. Maybe think about having salt/sugar scrubs or some type of exfoliating soaps or washcloths/scrubbies. But only if your skin isn't too sensitive. You could also bring some lotion, if you'd like. (Updated on April 14th) Things to Bring:

- Altar (Optional)

- Something to represent a serpent (optional)

- Hygiene products/tools, such as exfoliating body wash, scalp scrub, shampoo, wash cloth, loofa, hair clippers, tooth brush, pumice stone, etc. Maybe some lotion. We're going to be doing a blessing or enchantment over these items that will aid you in "shedding your skin" like snakes do. You don't need to bring all, just what you feel is most important.
